Happy 104th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia!
Today, on February 24th, we celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Estonia, remembering the sacrifices and efforts made for our nation’s freedom. However, this year’s anniversary is different – while Estonians mark the 104th anniversary of their country, Ukraine is facing an unprecedented crisis in the form of military aggression.
The Russian Federation has launched a full-scale military attack against Ukraine, once again violating international law and jeopardizing the balance of security in Europe. The ongoing warfare is undoubtedly causing widespread destruction in Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure, forcing a significant portion of the civilian population to flee their homes.
These events highlight the fragility of international security and the necessity not only for a strong national defense and allied relations but also for robust civil protection capabilities. Today, we reflect on both Estonia and Ukraine – one celebrating its independence and the other forced to fight for it.
Happy 104th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia! Слава Україні!
